How to make Special Masala Fish fry

This masala fish fry is a local street food- Light, flavourful and spicy. This masala fish fry makes an incredibly delicious appetizer and you can also serve in main course with rice or naan.

Masala Fish fry? 


This food is deep fried, fully rich with authentic Masala. Fish marinated with the combination of authentic species, lemon juice, coat with gram flour and deep fried till golden brown.

Fish selection?


Salmon, red snipper, rohu, or paplet are good for this Masala Fish fry. 

Serving?


Sprinkle chat masala , squeeze lemon and serve with local Pakistani chutnies ( Hari chutney / imli chutney ) , raita , fresh salad, coleslaw and French fries. This masala Fish fry is a delicious appetizer and you can also serve as main course with Naan ( roghani naan ) and rice (zera rice/plain rice).

Tips?


  • Don't marinate Fish more than 30 mins because after long time marination it becomes soft and difficultiy in frying.
  • Always use fresh Fish. If you feel old Fish smell don't use.
  • Make a thick marination for coating which is easily hold the Fish.
  • Carefully add salt because Fish is already Salty. 
  • During frying gently flip as it can break. 

How to store?


  • Marinated Fish is easily stored in air tight container for 10-15 days.
  • Store right after marination.

How to make?


Ingredients:


  • Fish - 10 pieces 
  • Cooking oil (for frying) 

For marination:


  • Gram flour - ½ cup 
  • Ginger paste - ½ teaspoon 
  • Garlic paste - ½ teaspoon
  • Green chili paste - ½ teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - ⅓ teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - ½ teaspoon 
  • Gram Masala powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Carom seeds - 1 teaspoon 
  • Cumin seeds ( crushed and roasted) 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander ( crushed and roasted ) 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 2 tbs
  • Soya sauce - 1tbs
  • Salt - as per taste 
  • Orange food colour - a pinch
  • Chat masal - for sprinkling 

Directions:


  1. Wash and dry the Fish pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, add all marination ingredients.
  3. Mix all ingredients to make a thick paste. 
  4. Now add Fish pieces in marination and gently apply marination paste on both sides of Fish. Cover bowl and set aside for 25-30 mins.
  5. Now take a large pan and add oil for frying. Heat oil and as oil heated place Fish pieces carefully and cook for 10-15 mins on normal flame from both sides till turned in golden brown color.
  6. Sprinkle chat masala, squeeze lemon and garnish with finely chopped coriander, green chili and ginger.
  7. Fish fry masala is ready to eat.
  8. Serve as appetizer and in main course with rice and naan
