This food is deep fried, crispy fish pieces sold in the food streets of Pakistan. Fish marinated with the combination of authentic species, yougart, garm flour and rice flour and deep fried till crispiness.

Serving?


Sprinkle chat masala , squeeze lemon and serve with local Pakistani chutnies ( Hari chutney / imli chutney ) , raiat and fresh salad and French fries. This fried fish is a delicious appetizer and you can also serve with Naan ( roghni naan ).

How to make?


Ingredients:


  • Fish - 500g
  • Cooking oil (for frying) 


       For marination:

  • Gram flour - ½ cup 
  • Rice flour - 3 tps
  • Corn flour - 2 tbs
  • Yogurt - 2 tps
  • Ginger paste - ½ teaspoon 
  • Garlic paste - ½ teaspoon
  • Green chili paste - ½ teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - ⅓ teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - ½ teaspoon 
  • Carom seeds - 1 teaspoon 
  • Cumin seeds ( crushed and roasted) 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander ( crushed and roasted ) 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbs
  • Salt - as per taste 
  • Orange food colour - a pinch
  • Chat masal - for sprinkling 

Directions:


  1. Put all marination ingredients in a big bowl and mix well. Make a thick marination batter. 
  2. In the bowl,  add fish and coat well. Keep aside for 20-25 mins. 
  3. Take a large pan and heat oil for frying. One medium flame, drop the fish pieces one by one. Don't put too much.
  4. Flip over so that they are equally golden on both sides. 
  5. Fry on medium flame until cook properly then for 2-3 fry on high flame for crispiness and color turns in golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle chat masala and enjoy with your favorite sauce or raita.
